FULL STORY: “Pirates of the Caribbean” is getting a new movie . . . well a REBOOT to be exact. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently spoke about the future of two of his franchises: “Top Gun” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”.
Quote, “With ‘Top Gun’ you have an actor who is iconic and brilliant. And how many movies he does before he does [another], I can’t tell you.
“But we’re gonna reboot ‘Pirates’ . . . So that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”
It doesn’t sound like we can expect the return of any of the main cast like Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, or Keira Knightley.
Since Jerry didn’t share any other information, it’s not clear if any characters or actors from the franchise will be back, but “reboot” implies that they’re starting over from scratch.
