In a new poll, 44% of people said eating in bed is romantic . . . but mainly breakfast.  And foods that people think should be banned from the bedroom include:  Soup . . . pasta and sauce . . . tacos . . . and “a roast dinner.”

Is having breakfast in bed on Valentine’s Day romantic . . . or a horror show?  It depends who you ask.  And what the food is.

In a new poll, 44% of people said eating in bed is romantic, although 39% said that’s mainly BREAKFAST in bed . . . not other meals.

22% said it’s okay IF the bedding is being changed that day, and 17% said the IDEA of eating in bed is nicer than actually doing it.

52% of people said they can’t enjoy eating in bed because they’re worried about making a mess.  And 26% said food should NOT be allowed in the bedroom under any circumstances.

But some foods are worse than others.

The poll produced a list of 10 acceptable foods to eat in bed, beyond just breakfast.  They are:  Fruit . . . chocolate . . . yogurt . . . ice cream . . . pizza . . . a burger . . . cake . . . biscuits . . . sandwiches . . . and pie.

There’s also a list of 10 foods that people think should be “banned” from beds:  Soup . . . pasta and sauce . . . stir fry . . . curry . . . fish and chips . . . tacos . . . a hot dog . . . ramen . . . sausage and mashed potato . . . and “a roast dinner.”  (???)

(I could see someone attempting to eat chicken noodle soup in bed when they were sick . . . and yeah, the risk of splatters and spills seems high.)

(But are people really choosing to eat full meals in bed?  If so, I’d love to hear what I’m missing out on.  Even if you don’t make a mess, it seems like it would be awkward, and just a hassle.)
